ROCKET MAN’S STORY

“That’s right.” said Rocket Man as he walked into the Boardroom “I am always travelling all over this Universe and that is why I am always called Rocket Man but the madman across the water, as you call him, was my father. My grandfather gave me the name of Robert Guy Mann. He changed my surname just after he rescued me when I was a very young child. I know the truth and now I think that it’s time that you all get to know it too.

As you are aware of most of my grandfather’s past and what happened up to the time my father got sick and was given some medicine to save his life. My grandfather told me many times that my father recovered slowly and as he did he became a very spiteful child and a whipping boy for all the other boys who lived at the nearby mission. Mom had just said good morning Freedom when I arrived earlier than what was expected but dad couldn’t take mom to the mission for help because he had just tried to burn down the mission. A sweet painted lady was passing and stopped to help mom and dad and took my parents to the nearest train station where dad bought tickets for Indian Sunset, the place where his uncle lived.

On the train my father asked the guard as to how long before they would reach Indian Sunset and the guard replied “This train don’t stop there anymore because not enough passengers used the station. Most people who want to travel there usually get off at Te Dare and catch the bus back the following day and Saturday night’s alright for staying there because the place was very quiet and trouble free.”

My mother told my father’s dad that after saying goodbye Yellow Brick Road Hotel and boarding the bus, she overheard someone sitting in front of them say “Where to now St Peter? I think that whoever is trying to burn down the
